Marcie Ptacek

Marcella May Ptacek went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2010, after battling cancer for a little over a year. She passed peacefully at home in Fortuna, CA with her loving Mother and two sisters at her side and brother connected by cell phone. Marcie was born February 22, 1947 in Portland, OR, moved to Coolidge, AZ at the age of nine and completed high school there. She moved to Chandler, AZ worked at Motorola, had her own security guard business and was a local process server. She spent seven years working with St. Vincent DePaul Society. Marcie worked for her brother, Mark Ptacek at the Eagle Field Cotton Gin, in Firebaugh, CA along with her sister, Myrna Farrar. She also worked at the Benbow Valley RV Resort in Garberville, CA. Marcie then had the opportunity to get the motor home of her dreams and travel. She later enjoyed being the camp host at Swimmers Delight and Benbow State Park. She LOVED to fish. Marcie was preceded in death by her Father, Edmund Ptacek, niece Aimee Ptacek, Amado and good friend Nancy Spencer. She is survived by her Mother, Hester Ptacek, sisters Marlene Chenal Ptacek, and Myrna Farrar all of Fortuna, CA, brother Mark Ptacek and wife Linda of Corcoran, CA, nephew Jason Ptacek of Stanfield, AZ, good friend, Carole Mommer of Eureka, CA, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The date of graveside services is yet to be determined, but she will be laid to rest next to her father at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Eureka, CA. We are especially grateful to Dr. Olkin and Jones office, Hospice of Humboldt and all who contributed to her treatment. We will all miss you "Boss", and are forever grateful for the time we had together and for all you did for us.Arrangements are under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary.
