Margaret Ellis Werner Blumer was born in St. Cloud Minnesota on November 24, 1920 and passed away in Surprise, AZ on May 1, 2013. She was predeceased by 6 of her brothers and sisters; her son Robert Blumer; and her husband Howard Blumer. She is survived by her brother Thomas Werner, and her two daughters Marilyn Blumer Georges and Margaret (Peggy) Blumer Busey. Margaret grew up on a farm in Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in physical education. She came to California after WWII with her best friend. There she met and married Howard Blumer. They moved to Eureka in 1956. Margaret taught school at Eureka High, Eureka Junior High, and Winship Junior High before retiring in 1970. During her years of teaching, she completed a Master's Degree at Humboldt State University. Margaret belonged to the the Eureka Woman's Club and Redwood Empire Golf Club. She loved to garden, and had a beautiful vegetable and flower garden every year. She loved to play golf, and continued to play into her 80's. Margaret suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. She spent two years living at Timber Ridge where she received wonderful care. The last two and a half years of her life, she spent living with her daughter, Peggy and son-in-law Greg Busey.
