Marilyn Jean McNally Marilyn passed away peacefully on March 20. She was born July 6, 1926 to Elizabeth and Theodore Carlson in Scotia, California. Marilyn spent her childhood enjoying beautiful Freshwater and attended Freshwater and Garfield schools. She later attended Eureka Junior and Senior High schools, graduating in 1944. Upon graduation, she began her career at the Bank of America, where she enjoyed working until her retirement. After her retirement, she worked for attorney James Bartlett. She became Mrs. Raymond McNally in June of 1951. She enjoyed family gatherings the most, especially those at the family cabin in Ruth Lake. She was thrilled to be able to visit her son all over the world, and they took several wonderful trips together. She was the proudest mom and auntie there ever was. Marilyn was an active member of Eureka Heritage Society, the Sacred Heard Church, and the Bank of America Retirees Group. But perhaps what defined her most was her love for her community of friends and family, and her treasured Myrtletown neighborhood where she lived all her adult life. She enjoyed corresponding with friends and family via handwritten letters and cards, which always brought a smile to one's face. Marilyn has been living at Frye's Care Home in Cutten for the past nine years where she cherished many new friends. She was very thankful to Dolly Frye and the caring staff who showed her so much kindness and assistance. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her parents, her step mother Florence, her brother Donald Carlson, and her step brother Robert Stevenson. Her family members who will miss her dearly are her son Paul McNally, sister Lois Hadley (Robert), nieces Sue Tofflemire (Eric) and Joan Caldwell (Richard), grand nephews Andrew and Brian Tofflemire, grand nieces Sarah and Erin Caldwell, Mary Anne Stevenson and her son Robert Stevenson Jr. (Lesley). Funeral mass will be Wednesday, March, 27, noon, at Sacred Heart Church, 2085 Myrtle Avenue, Eureka. Following will be a reception at Gabriel's restaurant, 216 E Street, Eureka.
