Nancy Duran Obituary

born January 15, 1937, died in Eureka on October 12, 2010 at the age of 73. Nancy was a native of Humboldt County and resident of McKinleyville. Nancy was a Native American country girl who loved to explore all the cities she could. She jokingly called herself a half-assed environmentalist, but was ardent about many things. She was an eccentric artist who did portraits and nature inspired works. She enjoyed reading and collected a wide range of books, some big and difficult to pursue. She also enjoyed people watching and observing other cultural ways. Education was very important to Nancy and she obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Humboldt State. She enjoyed influencing her grandkids with education and cultural experience. She also raised and maintained a lush garden at her home in McKinleyville. Nancy is survived by her son, Cecil Offield Jr.; daughters Lezlee Dutton and Robin Wiese; grandchildren Jushua Wiese, Sarah Wiese and Cecil Offield III; great-grandchildren Jushua C., Hunter, Kassidy, Erik and Isack. She is also survived by her brothers, Gary Floyd, David Linderman, Neal Purcell and Wayne Purcell; sister Betty Berg; ex-husband Louis Duran; nieces, nephews and other relates, Kathryn, Rebecca and Sean Linderman, Mike Lori, Leslie Gayleen, Sarah, Neals Purcell, Julia Robin, Robert Neal, Wayne, Michael, Keith and Tony. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Edward Neal Purcell; ex-husband Cecil Offield; granddaughter Amber Offield; niece Debra Linderman. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 E Street, Eureka on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 1 p.m. Please sign the guest book at www.Times-Standard.com, click obits.
