Novella Francis Obituary
NOVELLA FRANCIS Novella Francis passed from this life to an even better eternal life on January 28, 2018. It has been said that her heart, "simply gave out as she gave it all away in love and service to others as Christ provided the example." Her loving husband of 62 years, Alvin (Pete) Francis survives her and is comforted by the promise of heavenly reunion. They have been faithful members of Manila Holiness Church for over 59 years. Novella was born November 12, 1937 in Amity, Arkansas to her loving parents, Carlie and Leona Buck, where she graduated Amity High School and chose to turn down several other career opportunities to be a wife, life-long homemaker, becoming an amazing southern cook alongside Pete, a US Army Corporal who served in occupied Germany after World War 2. She was predeceased by her Father and Mother, Carlie and Leona Buck, Sister, Inez Massey, and daughter-in-law, Tami Francis, all so precious to her. She has an absolute world of friends across the country and loved entertaining with genuine open house, open arms, and open heart. Regardless of circumstances she trusted the Lord and chose a positive attitude with a ready hug, cry, or robust laugh with absolutely anyone. Her life was nothing short of a true Christian Saint. There will be a viewing on Monday, February 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 at Paul's Chapel, 1070 H Street, Arcata and the funeral on Tuesday, February 6th from 12:00 to 1:30 at Redwood Christian Center, 6000 Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka conducted by Pastor Phillip Stephens. Interment will be at the Veteran's Section of Ocean View Cemetery, 3875 Broadway, Eureka. There will be continued fellowship at Redwood Christian Center following interment. Everyone called her friend, but her blessed family will somehow try to carry the torch that was the most important thing to her, "the light of Christ". They are: loving husband, Alvin (Pete) Francis; Sons, Randall and Al Francis; daughter-in-law, Candace Francis; grandchildren, Tori Francis, Carly Francis, Justin Francis, Brandon Francis and spouse, Brittani Francis. The entire family would like to thank, honor, and extend pure love to all of the caregivers and army of supportive, cherished friends. This was a life as well lived and shared as is possible, and we will reunite together forever someday soon. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com
