Obituary Condolences

Pauline Franklin Pauline "Polly" Franklin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in Eureka at the age of 88. She was born in Clover, South Carolina May 6, 1924 and spent her childhood in the High Point, North Carolina area. She moved to California in the mid 1940's and has been a resident of Arcata since 1951. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. She was active in her church, First Covenant, Eureka, and the Eureka Rescue Mission Auxiliary for many years. Polly is survived by her children John Jr. (Jann) Franklin of Gardner, Kansas, Linda (Steve) Rogers of Dunsmuir, California, and Barbara Franklin of Arcata; her five grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer D) Franklin of Holdrege, Nebraska, Jennifer Franklin of Sacramento, California, Kevin (Jackie) Rogers of Schenectady, New York, Philip (Jillian) Rogers of Riverside, California, and Mark (Stephanie) Rogers of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John C. Franklin Sr. in 1987; her great grandson Paul Hudson Rogers of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, James and Paul Whisnant of Thomasville, North Carolina; and two sisters, Elizabeth Pleasants of King, North Carolina and Evelyn Schmidt of Folsom, California. The family would like to thank the staff at Exclusively Sequoia for the excellent care given and the many kindnesses both to Polly and her family. Friends are invited to a memorial service on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Covenant Church, 2526 J Street, Eureka, California with Pastor Rick McRostie officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Humboldt, 2010 Myrtle Ave., Eureka. CA 95501.
