Peter S. Horner

Ocean- lover that he was, Peter Stirling Horner passed on September 20, 2010 to another destination as yet unknown to us, dying at his Trinidad home. Pete, as he was usually known, was recently considering resumption of his prior career of massage therapy, a college degree earned here. It was an occupation where-in he found great satisfaction relieving other people's body aches and pains. Loving a toasty fire himself, for 14 years he cut and delivered firewood to the community at large. Adept at caring for plants he, for sometime ran a business called "Surf and Turf", a landscaping and gardening venture, helping people develop and keep their gardens in order. Being a long time ocean surfer which he so thoroughly enjoyed, this past Saturday, his surfing long board was taken to Crescent City by fellow surfers in a memorial commemorating his great enjoyment of that sport. Peter never married but he leaves behind many friends and relatives, as well as his immediate family of his mother: Marian B. Nicholson of Trinidad, and his sister Helen Thornock of Annabella Utah. We believe that Peter would prefer not having the formality of a memorial service but would instead like each of his friends to remember him- each in his own special way.
