Bob and I were drafted into the Army back in 1969 along with 55 others from Humboldt county. Viviani, Venema, Sears, to name a few. We had some memorable times in Fort Lewis at basic training and learned each others ways well. Bob, here is to you, ride high, and we will see you when the sun sets.

I regret not seeing Bobby more over the years. I got to see Bobby a few years ago at the Redwood Run. I was happy see he was still his dapper self. I will miss Bobby and our times together in the past. God bless you all. Dennis Hill

I Had only know bob for a few years, even though he and my cousin had been together well over 20+. He was a good man and has some great boys. My cousin,Susan loved him so much and is devestated in this lose.I hurt so much over you leaving us so soon,i really thought you looked great and you were going to kick this thing when i took those picture of you your last week on earth. Little did i know that it would be our final time together and i am so thankful now that i had my camera when i came up to visit you and sue. I want to thank you for helping so much with my son, and susan too! you were a father to the fatherless and a good, good man. I Am glad i got to see you in san franciso if only for a minute and you looked really good then too~ i am still in shock about how quick you went away and left a void in those that loved you, Rest assured that your boys will be fine as susan loves them like her own and they all have such a good relationship, Thank you for all you have given your family/friends and community. rest in peace.

My heart goes out to Bobby's family. I hadn't seen him for a few years, but my memories are strong. We worked together at the Vista, shared many crazy times like the time we made all the customers order their drinks, sit and be quiet and watch the final episode of MASH. We wouldn't let them listen to the jukebox!!! When he quit, I made him a cake that said, "Happy trails, Hippie." I think that fits at this sad time, too. So, "Happy trails,Hippie!" I will miss you.
