Robert Secor Obituary

was born on September 29, 1931, in St. Helens, Oregon to Leroy and Frances Secor. He was one of five children. He passed away on November 6, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Bob married Connie Granberg and they moved to Orick in 1960. He worked in the timber industry, in the woods for Joe Romanini, at the old Cal Pacific mill, at the Arcata Redwood mill, and for 17 years at the National Park staff. Bob catered to your trick or treaters, and was loved for his plentiful gum ball machine. All of the neighbor kids called him "The Candy Man". He was a true bird lover; his bird feeders were always full. He and Connie raised 6 children who went on to give them 20 grand children and 7 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Lucille Morris, his brother James Secor, and his oldest grandson Nick Tanno. He is survived by his wife Connie, his children, Ben, Julie Adams (John), Patti Dahn, Betsy Tanno (Tim), Robert, Jr. (Shenny) and Kristine Wagner; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Justin, Cheyenne, and William Secor, Lindsay (Josh) Clarkson, Jesse and Ryan Adams, Erin (Kaipo) Nakata, Tyler and Wendi Dahn, Joe (Crissy) and Timmy Tanno, Bobby III (Owens) Anthony and Ashlee Secor, Betsy, Shelby (Robert Driggs) Kaitlin and Sabrina Lane; and Great-grandchildren, Weston Secor, Violet and Amelia Clarkson, Kanoa Nakata, Joe Tanno, Jr., Kylee Jo Secor and Brooklyn Driggs; his sisters, Muriel (Ted) Thuemler and Mary Ellen Hammond; his nephews, Jimmy, Michael, Patrick, Stephen and Richard Secor. Whew!! The family would like to thank Karen May and Hospice of Humboldt for all their help and support. A special thank you to all of our friends and family who kept us fed during the past stressful month. A private celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held with Rev. Dennis and Jeannie Daisy.
