Rodney R. Killingsworth Rodney R. Killingsworth ...BigO! Passed away on February 17, 2013 at the age of 82 in Fortuna, CA. He was born January, 29 1931 in Durham, CA to Eva and Clarence Killingsworth. He graduated from Ferndale High in 1950' where he played football and basketball and remained an avid Wildcat fan and was honored as a Booster of the year! He continued to go to games right up until his death. After high school he joined the Navy. Rod was an avid hunter and fisherman in the Mattole Valley, Northern CA and Oregon with friends and family. He drove logging trucks most of his life, working for several different companies. He worked mostly for Don E Nolan for 38 years until his retirement in 2000. He married Arlene Mathews in 1957, they had one daughter.. Janee. He married Pat Capps in 1967. With this marriage came three more daughters, Sandy, Marcia, and Harriet. Rod and Pat were married for 45 years. Rod is preceded in death by his wife Pat Killingsworth, father Clarence Killingsworth, his mother Eva Brown, sister Joy Branstetter, brothers Lee Killingsworth and Git Brown, sister Lois Killingsworth and two grandsons Mark Dunbar and Donnie Richardson. He is survived by his sister Janice Thomas; 4 daughters... Janee (Bob) Keyes, Sandy (Gaylord) Stalker, Marcia (Bruce) Matheson and Harriet ( Michael) Throssel; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Sean and Scott McCreery, Denise Edwards, Ken Richardson, Bruce Jr, and Matt Matheson and Wally Braden. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The funeral service for Rod will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Jerry Norman, Ron Brown, Ken Richardson, Kurt McCanless, Russ Killingsworth and Wally Braden. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lee Branstetter, Clarence Killingsworth, Stace Townsend, Ron Killingsworth, Bob Shinn, Ray Shinn, Billie Landergan, Kenny Chadbourne, and longtime friend Charley Lakin. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Ferndale High School Athletic Association or to . Last but certainly least we would like to make special mention of his good friends Kurt and Judy McCanless and also Nicole Franks who were always looking out for him these three people ment a lot to him!
