Sadie Cartwright

Obituary Condolences

Sadie Cartwright Age 32, made her journey into heaven unexpectedly Sunday, August 11, 2013. Sadie was born on February 26, 1982 to Tom and Connie Cartwright. She attended Lafayette, Zane Middle School, and Eureka High School, graduating in 2000 then continued her education at College of the Redwoods. Following college Sadie went on to work for Humboldt Merchant Services, George Peterson Insurance, and most recently Harber's Insurance. Sadie's childhood memories were full of family vacations, snow skiing, annual rafting trips at Indian Mary with the Bird Family and other close family friends. Sadie especially enjoyed her trips to the family cabin in Trinity Village where she would swim and lay in the sun with her sister, friends, and family. As a child Sadie cherished the day trips she took with her father to Fort Baker. Some of Sadie's simple pleasures in life included gardening or taking walks with some of her closest friends. She enjoyed cooking and loved exchanging recipes and cooking techniques. Sadie most recently enjoyed decorating and remodeling the home that she and Brian purchased. Sadie's love for animals and children came naturally for her and was one of her greatest pleasures. Whether it was being Dr. Doolittle or watching someone's child, she was always there when you needed her. Children and animals always had a sense of security when she was around. Her niece Addison adored her Auntie Sadie and spent a lot of quality time getting spoiled at Auntie and Uncle Brian's. Sadie was an angel on earth, and now heaven has gained a special angel who will look over us--but especially over her son Jaxon. Sadie was a beautiful person inside and out who greeted people with her infectious smile. Loving life, friends and most importantly her family was what made her who she was. Her conversations were never about herself; they were always about you and what was happening in your life. Sadie was an example for everyone who knew her; she always put your needs ahead of hers. If only this world had more people like Sadie it would be a better place. Sadie enjoyed the friendship of many close friends, but none closer than her sister and her mom. Rarely would you find Sadie without finding her sister or mom. The three of them were the best of friends--from the shopping trips as children to most recently sharing stories about raising children. Six years ago Sadie was talked into taking golf lessons where she met the love of her life. All it took was meeting Brian once, and she fell head over heels in love. The two of them have made so many memories camping, hunting, traveling, playing with their dog Luke, enjoying one another's company, and most importantly the memories made with Jaxon. Sadie dedicated every ounce of herself to making sure the people around her were happy--especially the light of her life, Jax. Sadie is predeceased by her grandfather George Cartwright, grandmother Bernice Dimmick, and cousin Blaire Dimmick. She is survived by her fianc‚ Brian Rasmussen and her son Jaxon; her parents Tom and Connie Cartwright; her sister Lindsey Lucas (Kyle); grandparents Bill Dimmick & Fern Carnwright; aunts and uncles Jerry Cartwright, Kandi Bailey (Darrel), Rick Dimmick (Marie), Larry Dimmick (Barb), and Tom Dimmick (Amber); and cousins Scott Dimmick, Gabe Dimmick, Jamie Gast, Brandee Mitchell, and Shane Bailey; niece and nephew Addison and Carson Lucas. Sadie was also survived by Brian's parents Butch Rasmussen and Robin Bet; brother Jeremy (Collen) Rasmussen, and niece and nephew Jacye and Mariah. Sadie also leaves behind her closest friends who she shared so many memories with including The Bird Family, Patty, Lala, Kimmie, Deeds, Kacy, Jamie, Oriana, Rendy, Christen, Danielle, Rebecca, and Jessica just to name a few. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the River Lodge, Fortuna. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to honor Sadie's life be made to an educational fund established for the benefit of her son Jaxon. Contributions payable to "College America" may be sent c/o Mike Munson at the Munson Bowen Group, 318 5th St, Eureka, CA 95501. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com, click on obits.
