Shirley Andersen a resident of Stockton, CA passed away suddenly and peacefully in her home on April 8, 2013 at the age of 64. Beloved daughter, sister, mother, and Nana, she is survived by her parents, Gale and Irene Andersen of Arcata, CA; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Joe Ardan of Seattle, WA; her daughter and grandsons, Julie Barbee, Aaron and Sam of Galt, CA; and her partner in life, Joseph Schmitz of Stockton, CA. Born and raised in the Arcata/Samoa area, she later moved to the CA East Bay Area where she lived most of her years, settling in Stockton in 2004. She worked in the health care industry all of her life, having owned her own medical billing company for several years. A lover of animals and an excellent cook, Shirley especially enjoyed flowers and Broadway musicals, true crime stories, and the coastal areas. Her two grandsons were the bright light of her life, always spending quality time as their beloved Nana. Shirley spoke often of wishing to return home to the Arcata/Eureka area. It is there that she will be laid to rest. Relatives and friends are invited to join us at the memorial service at 1:00 pm on April 29, 2013 at Ocean View Cemetery, Sunset Memorial Park, 3975 Broadway, Eureka, CA.
