Suzanne Little Obituary

Suzanne, who was known as "Granny" to all those who knew her, or ever met her, was born into a traditional Hupa dance family and her culture and the customs of her people were very important in her life. The only things she cared about more than her culture was her large loving family. Suzanne's life was filled with her culture and family; she gathered year round for food to help feed the people at her families ceremonial camp, and volunteered in the local schools teaching the children about the local history and culture. Suzanne loved cooking for her family and the people; she enjoyed bingo and attending various cultural and community activities where her distinct laughter can be heard bringing happiness to those around her. She is survived by her eight children: Susie and Glenn Sanchez, Albert Carpenter, Charles and Shelly Carpenter, Debbie and Ronnie Webster, Richard Carpenter, Duane Carpenter and Marlene Green, Tonea and Alden Yazzie, and Antone "Bruz" and May Jane Aubrey. Her grandchildren Manuel Sanchez and Rachel Motian, Glenn Sanchez Jr. and Monique, Melissa Sanchez, Alicia Sanchez, Naomi Carpenter and Billy Matilton, Lila Carpenter, Amee Carpenter, Kim Carpenter and Jacob Hess, Sarah Carpenter, Tic-mil and Tabitha Ashley, Christina Carpenter, Candi Carpenter, Sausha Carpenter, Kevin Carpenter, Amos Carpenter, Raelene Carpenter, Blaze Carpenter, Duane Carpenter, Aaron Cloud, Adriana Cloud, Billy Aubrey, and Cassandra Aubrey. Her great grandchildren Andrew Dunlap, Lillian Neuroth, Eric Matilton, Micheal Ashley, Amos Ashley, Calvin Ashley, Mykyla Sanchez, Phyre Sanchez, Suzani Sanchez, Jacob Matilton, Ryan Moon and more to name Suzanne in preceded in death by her father Amos Little, her mother Audrey Johnson, sister Joyce Croy-Nelson, and long life friend "Big Ralph." Friends are invited to attend the funeral led by Rodney Vigil Sr. at the Hoopa Neighborhood Faculties on Thursday Dec. 2 at 11 am, with a reception following the burial at the Hoopa Community Center on Loop Road.
