Sylvia Viola Mace Born February 7, 1927 in Bottineau, North Dakota to Robert and Irene Johnson; passed away April 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, Ca. with family at her side. Sylvia and her husband moved to Eureka Ca in 1946, they then moved to Orleans in 1956 where she raised her family and remained until passing. She did many varied things in her life but ultimately she was a housewife and mother. She sold Avon, cooked in fire camps for the Forest Service, many hours were spent crocheting, crafting and working in the yard. She also enjoyed making and decorating cakes of which she made many. She worked for the original owners of the Orleans Caf as a cook; also worked for Kirk Evergreens bunching Huckleberry brush in the Orleans plant and even with her family in her off time picked huckleberry brush and sold to the plant. Sylvia leaves behind her daughter Debbie Mace, son Gene Mace daughter-in-laws Sharon and Gail Mace; 10 Grandchildren Bill, Kathy (Ross), Kelly, Buck (Heather), Bart (Jenny), Robin (Dave), John, Randy, Jessica and Krystin (Kyle); 26 Great-grandchildren Noah, Lydia, Josiah, Kaiden, Kolton, Allen, Audrina, Allison, Jonathan, Sky, Trinity, Cher-Geesh, Aaliyah, Sabrina, Dylan, Jasmine, Natalie, Chloe, Kadence, Maya, Cody, Tanisha, Lexi, Halle, Gwen, Miley; 2 Great-great-grandchildren Alexis and Sophia also 2 step Grandchildren Stephanie and Keith. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mace; her sons Larry and Allen and a grandson Luke. Graveside services were held Thursday April 10, 2014 at Oceanview Cemetery in Eureka, CA.
