Wes Windsor was the best boss I ever had. He was fair and listened and cared about his employees and his job. His wry sense of humor took a little getting used to but once you figured it out you could grin with him. He was also a great Pinochle partner and we used to race up to the cafeteria to get a place together. I remember when he retired. I broke the office policy of no public parties (Vickie's Rule) and gave a party for Wes in the cafeteria. He was too well liked and respected by his fellow employees not to. His wife made pate and almost all the employees in the Courthouse came by.
He was a great man and I mourn his passing.

Cousin Wes was a great guy to know. In a family of strong personalities, his demeanor rang out for its calmness. I had not recalled Wes' love of learning and education, but see it here. Its odd how you see someone at dozens of extended family events over decades and learn things after the fact. He was one of the last of the youngest group that could be considered part of the Greatest Generation. Those people who lived through the Depression and the Wars are sorely missed. They had character and integrity, the likes of which we shall never see again. They worked hard, but took time to help others. They enjoyed life, provided for their families, loved their grandkids, and provided an amazing world for us to be born into.
Thank you, Wes. I have priceless memories of my mom, Bev (Dolly) Thompson, and I visiting you all, of card playing, and times seeing you with Anna and all of you together with Marge and Bill. I hope you all know how very much the kids appreciated who you were and what you did...
My condolences to my cousins and so many others who feel the loss.
Sincerely,

It was a pleasure to share coffee and stories with Wes for nearly 15 years. He had strong feelings for his fellow employees and always tried to do what was right for them. We all enjoyed his stories of events because he often inserted an unexpected "twist" to the tale. My condolences to his family during this time of bereavement. I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend services.
