Beverly Jean Giacomini Beverly, 64, passed away on February 3, 2010 surrounded by family at her home in Eureka, CA. Beverly was born in May, 1945 to Herman and Helen Steffen in Napa CA.Beverly was raised in Aberdeen, WA and moved to Arcata in her 11th grade year of high school. She graduated from high school with honors in 1963. After marrying Frank in 1965, she became a loving mother to Lori and Steve. Early in their marriage her family moved to Ohio and resided there for 5 years. 36 years ago her family returned to Eureka to be near family. Beverly originally started work as a legal secretary for the firm Mathews, Travis and Mckittrick, now Mathews, Kluck, Walsh and Winkle. She worked at the firm for 32 years before retiring in 2005. Beverly loved spending time with her family, she was always very proud to be a part of such a large loving family. Beverly was known as the "family organizer" and most recently organized a Steffen family reunion in July 2009. Beverly was very active all throughout her life. She loved golfing and traveling. She was a member at Redwood Empire Golf club and tried to play 1-2 times a week with Frank and her very good friend Linda. She went on many golf vacations with her sister Sherry and husband Cliff. She would make many trips to visit brothers and sisters in Washington and San Diego. She would also travel several times a year to visit her children and grandchildren in Sacramento and Gardnerville, NV. Her grandchildren loved seeing their "silly Grandma" who always had a lot of energy to play with them and take them fun places such as Disneyland in 2008. Beverly would like to be remembered as a strong, energetic person who relied on her faith to get her through hard times. Beverly is survived by her Husband Frank Giacomini; daughter Lori Korzeniewski and her husband Jim of Gardnerville, NV; son Steve Giacomini and his wife Stacy of Sacramento, CA; Grandchildren Nolan, Zakary, Jakob and Sierra. Beverly was preceded in death by her father Herman and survived by her mother, Helen and her 10 brothers and sisters including: Evelyn Carson, Bill Steffen, Sherry Grummert , Bob Steffen, David Steffen, Dan Steffen, Debbie Meyers, Catherine Miller, Christine Vahldick and Annette Steffen. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Martin Majer and his staff at Eureka Internal Medicine/Oncology and Dr. Allen Mathew and his staff at Eureka Internal Medicine. Services for Beverly include a Rosary at Pierce Mortuary, 707 H Street, Eureka, California on Monday February 8th at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Loren Allen at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Henderson & C Streets in Eureka Tuesday February 9th at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that contributions be made one of the following causes; The Breast Health Project (The Breast Center) in Arcata, Hospice of Humboldt or St. Bernard's Catholic Schools.
