Obituary Condolences

Virginia Bradley Virginia Bradley passed away peacefully on November 13, 2012. Virginia was born to Silvio and Olga (Renner) Scilacci, on August 23, 1924, whose immigrant parents along with family and other Italian-Swiss from Corippo, Switzerland settled in the Ferndale valley where they established dairies. Virginia was a loving, caring, gentle, and happy person that saw good in people, was always positive about things, and had a smile and kind word for everyone she met. She was a 1943 graduate of Ferndale High School, of which she kept in contact with classmates over the years. Working at a bakery in Ferndale, she met her late husband Charley "Chuck" Bradley, marrying him in 1948. They would have two children, Ivan Bradley of Cayucos, California, and Roger Bradley of Fortuna, California. In addition to raising her sons and providing care for her husband, Virginia found time to enjoy and perfect her sewing, knitting, and quilting of which she was awarded many times for the excellence of her work. Virginia had many close and longtime friends, and many others that knew and admired her. With the passing of her husband, she spent many pleasant years with people at Lentz Department Store in Ferndale, and enjoyed visiting with the many world travelers that would come into the store. Retiring, she found more time for quilting, baking, cooking, her cat, and visiting with her friends. Though Virginia will be truly missed by all that knew her, her love for others and her smile will always be remembered. Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers Alvin and Harold Scilacci, both of Ferndale. In addition to her sons and many close friends, Virginia leaves behind sister Lois Bastas of Cottage Grove, Oregon, sister-in-laws Lucille Scilacci of Ferndale and Clara Scilacci of Fortuna, and Ivan's (Loretta) children Anna, Brett, and Brice; grandchildren Cameron, Lauryn, Aryn, D.J., Macaila, and Brent; and Roger's children Brooke, Kevin, and Jesika; and grandchildren Ethan, Cameron, and Finnegan. A visitation will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Goble's Fortuna Mortuary from 2:00 PM until 4:00 pm, with services to be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00 AM followed after internment, by a celebration of life reception at 12:00 noon, at The Rectory, 2312 Newberg Road, Fortuna, California. Arrangements are under the care of Goble's Mortuary, Fortuna, California. Please sign the guest book at, click obits.
