Patricia (Mitchell) Lake

Obituary Condolences

Patricia (Mitchell) Lake On November 25, 2012, Pat passed away peacefully at her home in Fortuna after a 3 year battle with cancer. She was born on March 12, 1948 in Scotia to Gene and Bea Mitchell. She attended local schools and graduated from Fortuna High School in 1966. Pat was fortunate to spend most of her life as a stay-at-home mom and grandma. She worked part time over the years at College of the Redwoods in Admission and Data Entry. She enjoyed her time as a teacher's aide at both South Fortuna Elementary School and Christian Life School (NLCS), but her time at home with her family was when she felt most fulfilled. In more recent years Pat developed a love of quilting and enjoyed spending time with her "quilting friends." Her family will treasure each of the quilts that were pieced and sewn by her with such care and love. Being a grandma was one of her greatest joys in life, and each of her grandchildren knew they were unconditionally loved and treasured. Pat is survived by her husband Ron Lake of Fortuna. They were married on December 14, 1968. She is also survived by her children: Angela (Keith) Schuetzle, Amy (Tim) Jones, and Kevin (Kelly) Nyberg, and her 7 grandchildren: Cody, Logan, and Branson Schuetzle, Dillon and Kate Jones, and Regan and Austin Nyberg. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Dennis) Wood, brother, Garvin (Suzanne) Mitchell, niece, Lisa (Matt) Page, nephew, Chad (Becca) Wood, and great nieces and nephew Addison and Mackenzie Wood and Henry Page. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 at Calvary Chapel, 9th and Ost Fortuna with a reception immediately following the services.
