LeRoy Jack Gillaspey

Obituary Condolences

LeRoy Jack Gillaspey was born on April 30, 1939, in Central Point, Oregon. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1962. He settled in Northern California shortly after, where he married, worked and raised a family. He worked in the Big Lagoon sawmill for nearly 40 years and drove a logging truck for the following twelve. LeRoy was a very hard worker. He had a warm, friendly disposition and a great sense of humor. He was a kind and giving man, who constantly went out of his way to do things for others. Among other things, he enjoyed golf, working in his yard on the weekends and spending time with his grandkids. He was an avid hunter in his younger years, and was quite fond of bowling, playing pool and spending time at the casino with his wife. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Freda Gillaspey, and his three children: LeRoy, Tina (and Mike) Hahn, and Sherri (and Bo) Conn. Eight grandkids: Rachael, Kyle and Jessica Gillaspey, Crystal and Angela Lack, and Briton, Brelynn and Brandon Conn. Two great grandkids: Josh and Ace. Two twin brothers: Ron and Don Gillaspey. And one sister Jackie Miller. He is preceded in death by both of his parents: Jack and Ruby Gillaspey. Per LeRoy's request there will be no services.
