Farrell Lee Baker Lee passed away on April 10, 2013. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1931. Lee is survived by his wife Prudence Baker, Children; Debi (Mike) Stewart, Buz (Tammie) Baker, Christine (John) Lewman and Steven (Brandi) Baker. Step-children; Michele Harris, Curt Harris, Paige Asbury, Chip (Mary) Stewart and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lee joined the Air Force in 1948 and became a medic. He was also a boxer in the service. He once was a sparring partner to the Heavyweight Champion Rocky Marciano. After serving in the Korean War, Lee was honorably discharged in 1952. After being discharged, Lee married and worked as an X-ray tech until he learned that there was more lucrative opportunity in the carpet and tile industry. While working as a union carpet layer, he supplemented his family's income by raising heifers on a ranch he bought near Napa, California. Lee raced speed boats, loved hunting and fishing, and also was a Boy Scouts troop leader for many years. After retiring from the Union for more than 25 years, Lee moved to Hydesville, California. After a number of years he met and married his second wife Prue. Together they bought and worked the Rendezvous Bar in Rio Dell. His utmost enjoyment came from the Rendezvous softball team he sponsored - "DA VOUS". He was the team's biggest fan and considered each player as one of "his boys". A legendary cook and always pushing the limits of people's taste buds, Lee's cooking was unique and delicious and never rushed. An avid bowler along with his life teammate Prue, they bowled for over 20 years together up to the very end. We will miss you dearly Dad, Grandpa, Husband, and Friend.. May God Bless You. A memorial service with potluck gathering following will be held on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 1:00 PM, at the Fortuna Veterans Memorial Building, 1426 Main Street, Fortuna, California.
