Obituary Condolences

William A. Glover August 7, 1938 - August 11, 2013 William (Bill) Glover passed away peacefully after having an exciting and full life of travel, work and friendships. Bill was born in Arcata, CA to James and Ruth Glover who were loving and proud parents. He is survived by his loving brother Jim and brother-in-law Ed Ramstad who reside in Eureka, CA; son Jonathan Glover who is serving in the U.S. Army and daughter Cynthia Rose who lives in Redding, CA. Bill is also survived by three granddaughters Oscia, Elizabeth, and Crystal; and two great-grandchildren Lydia and Peter. He leaves many friends who were close to him toward the end and who helped him enjoy and endure the passing of time: Pauline McKeand, Donnie Jones, Joe and Larry Modlin, Sherry and Ron Reed, and Dusty and Susan Harrison. After graduating from high school, Bill joined and served in the U.S. Air Force. He returned to Arcata after his military service and worked locally until moving to Redding, CA where he attended and graduated from Shasta College. He then moved to Sacramento where he served in the Sacramento Police Department. He also attended Sacramento State College and obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. Later he moved to Champaign, IL where he was on the faculty at the University of Illinois. Bill also worked with the Bechtel Group of Companies in San Francisco and then started and for over 23 years, operated a successful aviation security consulting company in Roseville, CA. He provided services to over 125 airports in the U.S. and many international locations. Bill will be remembered well for his humor, his absolute love of his hometown Arcata, and his fierce loyalty to his countless friends.
