MOSCOW/WATERBURY - Charles E. "Chuckie" Grout, 52, a longtime resident of Moscow and more recently of Waterbury, passed away in the comfort of his family at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday evening, June 23, 2013.

Born in Morrisville on May 22, 1961, he was the son of the late Lloyd H. and Doris M. (Clark) Grout.
Chuckie attended Stowe schools and then went to work with his father, Lloyd, at Grout's Backhoe Services for many years. When his dad retired from the business, Chuckie was employed in food services at the Shed Restaurant in Stowe. He later worked in janitorial services at SUSS MicroTec in Waterbury, from which he retired due to declining health.
An avid outdoorsman, Chuckie's favorite place was at Cotton Brook in Stowe where he enjoyed camping, fishing and canoeing. He also had a special interest in all things science fiction, in particular Star Trek.
Chuckie is survived by his sisters, Margaret Upton and her husband, Jerry, of Hyde Park, Susan Cookson and her husband, Lynn, of Morrisville, Debra Mandigo and her husband, Dan, of Morrisville, and Penny Wells and her husband, David, of Underhill; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Chuckie also leaves his uncle and aunt, Fred and Priscilla Grout of Waterbury, whom he considered his second parents. A brother, Lloyd Grout Jr., and a sister, Verna Burt, predeceased him.
Private family services will be held. Inurnment will take place in Hope Cemetery, Waterbury.
