BARRE CITY - Edicta "Val" Cozzi, 95, of Fortier's Community Care Home in Barre and formerly of Summer Street, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

Born in Bethel on Dec. 17, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Victoriano and Jennie (Rossi) Valle. She attended the school of nursing at Heaton Hospital where she graduated as a registered nurse and later worked at Heaton Hospital, Barre City Hospital and later Central Vermont Medical Center.

On Jan. 2, 1937, she married Bruno Cozzi in Whitehall, N.Y. The couple had always made their home in Barre. Mr. Cozzi passed away on Feb. 7, 1968.

She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and spending time at Joe's Pond, but most of all was spending precious time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include one daughter, Klaire Martin and her husband, Douglas, of Ridgefield, Conn.; one son-in-law, Maurice Asselin of Jupiter, Fla. as well as five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a life long devoted friend, Nelda Rossi of Berlin.

Klaire,
Having just lost my Dad in November, I know what an empty space you now have in your lives. Your Mom was such a wonderful person and such a delight to talk to when we visited Brian's mother at Fortier Place.

Our sincerest sympathy and prayers are sent your way.
