ROCHESTER - Gerald R. Shepard, 90, died Sunday, June 10, 2018, at his home.
He was born July 26, 1927, in Rochester, the son of Robert and Prudence (Manning) Shepard.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
After the service, Mr. Shepard worked farming, logging and in log mills, and for the state of Vermont Department of Transportation.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting, gardening and doing puzzles.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Brown Twitchell, whom he married March 16, 2018, in Rochester; daughters Geraldine Shaw, Paulette Huntley, siblings Richard and Linda Shepard, all of Rochester; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Brown Shepard; daughter Christy Shepard; siblings Larry, Raymond, Cheryl, Arlene, Helen and Florence.
Calling hour is from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Day Funeral Home in Randolph, followed by a graveside service with military honors at 2:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Rochester.
