RANDOLPH - Herbert "Herb" E. Farnsworth, 84, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction.
He was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Randolph Center, the son of Alton B. and Vera (Jones) Farnsworth.
He attended Randolph schools and graduated from Randolph High School. He was married to Margaret "Peg" Walker, Aug. 14, 1943, in Bethel. She died in 2000. He later married Anna Belle Keller, Feb. 26, 2002. She died in 2007. He was co-owner of Central Supplies in Randolph for many years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by two sons; David Farnsworth of Tunbridge and Gordon Farnsworth of Warrington, Pa.; a brother Paul Farnsworth of Spartanburg, S.C.; a sister Idella Preston of Randolph Center; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Douglas Farnsworth and a brother Robert Farnsworth.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 1 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Randolph Center Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 7 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
