BARRE - The service of remembrance for John Anthony Lavelle Jr. of the Washington Apartments was held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St. in Barre.
He died Sept. 12, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
The Rev. Paul Sackevich, parochial vicar of St. Monica Catholic Church, led the service. Religious Sister Elizabeth Driscoll read from the Old and New Testament.
Burial was made in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. The flag was presented to his eldest son, John A. Lavelle III by Bruce W. Judd of Barre American Legion Post #10.
Fellowship and luncheon followed in the lobby of the Washington Apartments.
It was omitted in the obituary that he was also predeceased by a son, Daniel Lavelle.
