MORETOWN - John Joseph Audy Sr., 75, of Moretown, Vermont, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018, surrounded by his family.
John was born Dec. 17, 1942, to Hazel (Sweetser) and Oscar Audy, of Waterbury, Vermont.
John enjoyed playing poker, snowmobiling with his family; hunting, fishing and camping were also hobbies of John's. He liked to watch NASCAR every Sunday and enjoyed watching the Red Sox play.
John and his wife, Christine, had a painting business called "Plain and Simple Painting" that they ran for many years. John's last job was working for Woodbury College (CCV) in Montpelier before retiring full time in the mid-2000s.
John is survived by his four sons and their spouses, Mark Audy, of Barre, Vermont, Paul Audy, of Concord, New Hampshire, Tim Audy, of Connecticut, and John Audy Jr., of Fairfax, Vermont; and their mother, Donna Keough, of Montpelier, Vermont. Also surviving him are his two brothers, Jerry Audy, of Morrisville, Vermont, Bruce Audy, of Arlington, Vermont; and one sister, Teresa Watson, of Alexandria, Virginia.
Also surviving him are his wife, Christine Audy, of Moretown, Vermont; and his stepchildren and their spouses, James Davy Jr., of Worcester, Vermont, Rita Rounds, of Middlesex, Vermont, Nora Haggett, of Middlesex, Vermont, Cara Herring, of Berlin, Vermont, Lisa Davy, of Stanley, North Carolina, and Vincent Davy of Middlesex, Vermont; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents, Hazel and Oscar Audy; and his son, David Audy.
Arrangements are in the care of Guare & Sons Funeral Home.
