MONTPELIER - Lousie (Janz) Davis, of Montpelier, died Sept. 16, 2012. She was born March 6, 1931, in Ryder, N.D., the daughter of Otto and Frida (Galow) Janz.

She attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and later graduated with a masters degree from Columbia University.

She was married to Frank M. Davis. He died March 1, 2007.

She worked as a nurse at Waterbury State Hospital before becoming a professor of nursing at Vermont College, which later merged with Norwich University, where she retired in 1989.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Martin and her sister Ruth.

She is survived by three children, Elizabeth Fortman of Middlesex; Nancy Davis of Winooski; and Philip Davis of Acton, Mass.; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
