BARRE TOWN - The First Presbyterian Church of Barre was filled Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at 1 p.m. for the funeral of Mary Jane Shriver of Wildersburg Common. She died Nov. 16, 2008, at the Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin.
Many of the congregation were colleagues at the Vermont Health Care Association of which she was the executive director as well as her family and church friends.
The Rev. Carl Hilton -VanOsdall, pastor of the church, led the service. Organist Alison Cheroff accompanied the congregation in the hymns "Amazing Grace" and "I Danced in the Morning." Her daughter, Jacquelyn Ganguly, read a poetic tribute to her mother and daughter-in-law Michelle Shriver read the 23rd Psalm. Words of remembrance were offered by her son, David Shriver, and several members of the congregation.
The bearers were her son, David Shriver, son-in-law Jeffrey Ganguly and family friends Eric Ganguly and William Hallock.
Later internment will be made in the Brotherhood Cemetery in Williamstown, N.J.
Fellowship and refreshment followed in the church dining room.
The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre was in charge of the arrangements.
