Dr M was the very best, most inspiring , gentle, and brilliant professor I ever had the honor to study with. He recruited me for grad school and gave me an even greater love of words written for the stage. His quoting teething in WS quotes got me through early parenting.I will always be grateful that I got to be in so many of his courses and his friend.

Michael Manheim was my most memorable teacher. I couldn't wait to go to class and hear him read Shakespeare. He made the plays come alive and resonate for me, a 20 year old girl in the middle of the twentieth century. Even now, at age 64 when I go back and revisit a play, I think of his honest, keen and unpretentious approach to Shakespeare. I am glad I had the opportunity to be one of his students.

It is apparent Professor Manheim had a profound and positive impact in the lives of many. I was gratified to read the mention in Professor Manheim's obituary of my late brother Bill Moor's correspondence with him. His role in the Iceman Cometh was greatly enhanced because of Dr. Manheim's book.

Mike Manheim was a fine colleague and a great mentor for me as a new professor when I came to UT.

Professor Manheim was my dearest teacher at UT and a true gem for our city's academic and cultural life for 30 years. I was another of the many beneficiaries of his and Martha's very warm attentions, especially during my graduate education. I owe him so much and will continue to remember the many lessons I learned from my Professor Manheim.

Dr. Mannheim made a major contribution to the educational experience at the University of Toledo. He will be fondly remembered by so many of us he taught.

Professor Manheim was a brilliant lecturer. He could speak for hours on Shakespeare or drama, and keep us enthralled. I greatly appreciate the help and attention he and Mrs. Manheim gave me many years ago when I first became a graduate student. He will be long remembered.

Michel was an inspiration. His love, devotion, and respect for Martha beamed beneath his quiet, thoughtful demeanor. While I thoroughly ejoyed his Shakespeare classes I will most remember him for the time he took to listen and the warmth he exuded.
With deep condolences to his family.
