MORRISVILLE - Muriel Verona Emerson, 76, of Pinewood Estates, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Born on Oct. 13, 1936, in Morrisville, she was the daughter of Raymond Charles and Beulah Harriet (Herman) Spaulding. She attended Morrisville schools and graduated from People's Academy High School in 1955.

On July 4, 1957, Muriel married Herbert A. Emerson in Morrisville. Since 1974, they made their home in Morrisville.

Muriel was a homemaker. For several years, she also worked as a custodian at the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury.
Muriel was a member of the Charity Rebekah Lodge #38 of Hyde Park and the Sons and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She enjoyed reading and watching television.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Emerson; her brother, Kenneth Spaulding; and her aunt, Eleanor Hermon, all of Morrisville; an uncle, Perley Herman and his wife, Nancy of Johnson; and cousins, Sylvia Lancaster of Brownington, Sandra Royer of Orleans, and Carolyn Boucher of West Brookfield, Mass.

A service of remembrance will be held in the Puffer United Methodist Church on Main Street in Morrisville Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 4 p.m. Family and friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Members from the Charity Rebekah Lodge #38 of Hyde Park will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m.

Interment will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in Morrisville.
