WILLIAMSTOWN - Paula W. (Burrell) Ibey died at Fletcher Allen Health Care on March 8, 2013.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1954, in Barre, to Paul R. and Lorraine (Gonya) Burrell. She attended Barre City schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1972.

Paula started working right after high school at The Times Argus and later, the National Life Insurance Co. for several years, before moving to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, where she was employed for 17 years before retiring in 2008 due to a second back operation, which left her disabled.

In December of 2012, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and fought bravely, but lost her battle due to many complications.

At the time of her death, she was surrounded by several very close friends who spoke volumes of the kind of person she was. She will be greatly missed.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Paul.

Per her wishes, there are no calling hours or services. Her ashes will be spread around No. 10 Pond later this year.

Donations in her name may be made to Central Vermont Humane Society, 1589 Vermont Route 14S, East Montpelier, VT 05651.
