MONTPELIER - Robert "Bobby" Brooks, 76, died Saturday, June 9, 2018, at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Barre City, the son of Phillip and Bessie (Dexter) Brooks.
He attended Barre schools.
Mr. Brooks worked for Anderson Friberg Granite in Barre for over 30 years and operated his own game meat cutting business for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, participating in fishing derbies and cooking.
Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Gloria (Martin), of Montpelier; two sons, Bobby Joe Brooks, of East Concord, Todd Jones, of Northfield; an adopted son, Allen, from East Montpelier; siblings Elvis West, of Lyndonville, Wendell Brooks, Marie Hood, both of Orange, Erlene Palmer, of Lyndonville, Irene Brady, of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Harold.
Per his wishes, there are no calling hours. A potluck gathering to celebrate his life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Moose Club in Williamstown.
