Dear Necia, Norman, and Nancy, and families,
I am so sad to hear that my dear frend Roberta is gone. As a young mom, I became part of the the women's group of the Federated Church. She was such a rock for me when I was the young president. For so many years, her kind and thoughtful presence helped me in so many ways. She was also a great friend to my own mom. who also so loved her.
Until I moved away, I enjoyed my time with her. Theb, even, after I moved, whenever I came home, I would visit with her. She never made me feel that I was the "youngster"..it was always friend. I am so grateful that I was back in Waitsfield for her 90th birthday. My times with her are times I will always cherish, and I often think of her. She was the most kind, thoughtful person who never had anything but good thing to say about anyone. What a wonderful legacy.
Now, I must tell you about the times I had to chuckle....when your dad was still with us, I was in the choir. Every Sunday, when the sermon started, he would doze off....it was so cute....he could sit straight up and no one behind him could tell he was snoozing, but we, in the choir could see (we were always amazed how he did it). When the sermon was over and the minister would go into the ending, your mom would nudge him gently, and he would waken and again be part of the service. It is a memory that I shared with your mom, and she laughed. What a great couple.
I know this is long, but when someone has meant so much for thirty plua years, it isn't easy to make it short.
My thoughts and prayers and with you all. Please know that she was a very special person who made so many people's better for knowing her.
Finally, I cannot count the times that we were together that she talked about you all, and her love for you was so strong. She left a mark that is hard to match...and for that, we are so much better.

Dear Norman, Necia, and Nancy and your spouses and kids and grand kids, I have great memories of Aunt Roberta. She was a wonderful, creative, warm and loving person who always had a smile. She made great desserts and loved to eat them. I know you will continue to miss her, but I pray you will find joy in all the years of memories of fun times with her.

My condolences to all the family. Mrs. Bonnette taught many of us young ladies how to sew through the 4H program. She always had a smile and a hello and made living in Waitsfield a wonderful experience. Our growing up years were made so special with the Roberta's of our lifetime. I look forward to seeing her in heaven with Jesus.
