MARLOW, N.H. - Ruth Ann (Sartelle) Knox, 59, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, after a long illness.

She was born March 31, 1954, the daughter of Marion I. (Smith) and Charles H. Sartelle Sr.

She graduated in 1972 from Hazen Union School in Hardwick, Vt.

On Sept. 20, 2003, she married Lougee Knox of Marlow.

After employment with the State of Vermont, Mrs. Knox worked as a paraeducator at Charlestown Primary School in the Fall Mountain district before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed camping, fishing, watching football games, cooking, baking and music.

Survivors include her husband of Marlow; her father of Hardwick; two daughters, Katie Johnson Vetro of Buxton, Maine, and Kristin Johnson of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Charles Jr. of Morrisville, Vt., Everett of Hardwick and David of Danville, Vt.; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother in 2011.

The graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in Sanborn Cemetery in East Hardwick, Vt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ruth Ann Knox Memorial Fund, in care of Sanford Institution for Savings, Attn: Ann M. Deprey, 254 Long Plains Road, Buxton, ME 04093, to purchase books for the Charlestown Primary School Library.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Northern Vermont Funeral Service in Hardwick.
