NORTHFIELD - Thomas E. Jenkinson Jr., 92, of Northfield, passed away peacefully at Gifford Medical Center on March 15, 2013, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Thomas and Emma (Ditty) Jenkinson. He was born July 13, 1920, in Greenfield, Mass., raised and educated in Northfield, Vt. He graduated in the class of 1941.

Tom was a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse on Cox Brook Road, Northfield. He worked for a time in the granite industry as an assistant to design authorities. He was a Mason of the Dewitt Clinton Lodge and a member of the GCIA.
Tom enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Sox. He traveled to many cities; Washington, D.C., was his favorite. He loved his family and being present in their lives.
Tom was predeceased by his sister Betty Hammond but leaves behind his sisters Erleen Steele, of Northfield, Barbara Arley, of Montpelier, a brother, John Jenkinson, of Lexington, Mass., as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Mayo Nursing Home in Northfield on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Committal will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Patient Activities Fund at Mayo Healthcare, 71 Richardson St., Northfield, VT 05663.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mayo Residential, Continuing Care and Rehabilitation for the excellent care and concern that has been given to Tom, our beloved brother, uncle and friend.
