BRAINTREE - Raymond G. Allen, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

He was born Sept. 2, 1925, in Randolph, the son of Glenn and Ella (Durkee) Allen.
He graduated from Randolph High School in 1943. He worked as a logger in the Randolph area and then for the Hall Brothers in the construction business. He started his own construction business which he owned and operated until retiring in 1992.
He was married to Mildred Salter in 1945 in Bethel. She died in 1963. He married Barrie Pierce Aug. 25, 1967, in Randolph. He enjoyed gardening and golfing and was a member of the Montague Golf Club in Randolph.
He is survived by his wife Barrie Allen of Braintree, sons, Robert Allen of Jefferson City, Mo. and Mark Allen of Braintree, his sister Ruth Allen of Randolph and four grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was predeceased by his son Lance Allen, his daughter Jannice Maher and a sister Ramona Dewey.
Memorial services will be held in the summer. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Randolph. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home, Randolph.
