In earlier years, she had worked at the Rock of Ages Capacitor Plant in Barre. For the last 30 years, she was employed at Central Vermont Medical Center in the dietary department.

Charlene was a member of St. Sylvester Church in Graniteville, where for many years she sang in the church choir. An ardent Catholic, she had lived a faith-centered life. She maintained a happy, contented and uplifting disposition and a kind manner toward everyone.

Over many years, Charlene was very active in her mother's care and provided her with great companionship. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

She enjoyed many interests and activities including knitting, drawing and painting, etching, various other crafts, Sudoku, crossword puzzles and reading. She spent her vacations camping with her family and traveling to Pennsylvania to see her granddaughter, Xaria Amor Patno, the light of her life.
