MORETOWN - Drew Carter, 53, of Moretown fell asleep in death early Friday evening, Feb. 4, 2011, while cross-country skiing and enjoying the creation of the God he loved.

He was born Oct. 7, 1957, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and moved with his family to Waterbury in 1970. He graduated from Harwood Union High School in 1974.

He served as a volunteer at Watchtower Farm in Walkill, N.Y., from 1976 to 1984, where he met his wife Bobbi and was married Dec. 11, 1982. With the birth of their son, Joshua, in 1985, Drew moved back to Vermont to work as a property manager for Jonathan Larsen in Moretown from 1984 to 2009.

While he enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family, his main interest was focused on his Christian ministry as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Right up until the time of his death he enjoyed sharing his hope with all those who would listen.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbi Carter of Moretown; his son, Joshua Carter; and his two brothers, Glen Carter, of Whiting, and Brian Carter, of Fayston.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2070 Airport Road, Berlin.
