EAST CALAIS - Danny Lee "Dan" Hartman, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in East Calais on Feb. 23, 2013. Born in Barre on June 15, 1959, to Flo Hartman and Harrison Howard Hartman, Danny grew up on the Hartman family farm attending Calais schools and later, U-32 High School.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Routhier-Hartman, and their two sons, Dylan and Marshall Hartman, of Williamstown, Vt. Dan is also survived by his daughter, Katrina Lawson, and husband Ryan, and former spouse, Bernadette Hartman, all of Fayetteville, Ark. Also missing Danny are his mom, Flo Hartman, his sister, Debbie Hemmings, and husband Doug, Dan's brother, "Doc" Hartman, nephew Jon Hemmings and family, and his many Routhier family relatives.
Dan leaves behind his many friends with whom he enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and camping. Danny was an enthusiastic antique collector, flower gardener and aquarium hobbyist. Most of all, Dan will be remembered as a man with a generous heart and a mischievous sense of humor.
Friends may call on Monday, March 4, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy St., Barre. A reception to celebrate his life will follow from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Jerry's Sports Tavern, 30 Summer St., Barre.
