German, Harriett - Longmont  
Harriett Ann German, 90, of Longmont passed away January 6, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born July 28, 1924 in Zanesville, Ohio to William D. and Hazel (Heim) Laycock. Harriett married James D. German on March 22, 1944 in Newport, Kentucky. They moved to the Longmont area in 2004 from Mesa, Arizona, as they had previously been long-time Colorado residents. For many years, Harriett and James owned and operated German's Donut & Sandwich Shop in Boulder. She was very active in activities at Village Place where she lived. She cherished and was loved by her family and friends. Harriett is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, and her two brothers, William and George Laycock. Harriett is survived by three sons: James J. German (Sarah), Bruce A. German (Donna), Jeff L. German (Debra), a daughter Cynthia G. Edwards (Ed Book), niece Tamara Cullins, grandchildren Heather, Ben, Jeremy, Kathryn, Reid, Jason, Troy, Justin and Desiree and three great-grandchildren: Joshua, Cotton and Jake. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Gouge, James - Boulder  
James Daniel Gouge, 85, passed away on Jan. 16, 2015 at his home in Longmont. A memorial service celebrating James' life will be held at: New Creation Church, 8th and Bross, Longmont, CO on Saturday, January 24, at 2:00 P.M. James was born January 5, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to Horace Ezekiel Gouge Sr. and Lucy Adelaide Leach Gouge, into a family of 11 children. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1947 he joined the USMC and served 3 years during which time he received an appointment to the US Naval Academy. He married shortly afterwards, requiring him to leave Annapolis. He took an engraving job as draftsman and worked in the Engineering Dept. at Rocky Flats Atomic Plant in Boulder, Colorado under Dow Chemical Co. After leaving Dow Chemical he was hired by IBM in the Engineering Dept. and worked there 30 years until his retirement in August of 1991. James attended New Creation Church for many years. He is survived by his wife, Helen P. Gouge; his sons Robert (Jackie) Gouge of Delaware, David (Sharon) Gouge of Lyons, Peter (Sandy) Gouge of Fruita; step-children Bobetta (Mason) Young of Colorado Springs, John (Lyndee) Kobobel of Westcliffe and Robin Kobobel of Longmont; and numerous grandchildren and great grand children. He was preceded in death by a wife, Doris Ravillious; a son James Gouge Jr.; and a daughter Susan Gouge; his parents; 5 brothers; and 6 sisters. Jim will be remembered for his love of family, love of his church, love of the Military (Marines), and love of growing roses.
