Betty L. Lewis, 67, of Lafayette, Colorado, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at her home after a valiant struggle with ovarian cancer. She was born August 8, 1945 to Everett and Eunice Gustafson in Omaha, NE. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Richard L. Lewis. She has a daughter Kim Cole, of Scottsdale, Arizona from a previous marriage and two step-daughters Pamela Mosher (Tim Mosher) of Louisville, CO and Michelle Grey (Bill Grey) of Pueblo, CO. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Sumner Grey and Lindsay Grey. She is also survived by her brothers Jerome Gustafson (Shirley) of Greeley, CO and Wayne Gustafson (June), a sister-in-law Barbara Gustafson as well as her nieces Taynin Koponos and Jamie Cronk and nephews Kris Gustafson, David Gustafson and Mark Gustafson. Her family moved to Greeley, CO in the early 1950's and then to Longmont, Colorado where she attended junior high and part of high school. In 1962, she moved to Thornton, CO where she graduated from Thornton High School. She lived in Denver and moved back to Longmont with her daughter, Kim, in 1981 and worked for the St. Vrain Valley School district as an executive assistant to the Superintendent of Schools until she retired in 1995. She married Richard Lewis in August of 1988. Betty and her business partner Jan Steger are the founders of Mollie McGee's Craft Market which has been an annual staple of the Longmont County Fairgrounds for over 25 years. The most important things in Betty's life were her love of family, travel and close friendships, some of which she maintained for over 50 years. A memorial service will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry Street, Longmont, CO on Saturday April 20 at 1pm.
