Catherine Ehrmann, 92, of Longmont, CO passed away April 21, 2014. Catherine was born on February 15, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York to Adolf and Margaret (Liller) Oppel. Catherine grew up in New York and married Leo Ehrmann on February 12, 1949 in Queens. She and Leo moved to Boulder in 1969 from Cranford, New Jersey and to Longmont in 1985. Catherine was a homemaker and also a secretary to head football coaches Eddie Crowder and Bill Mallory at the University of Colorado Boulder. Catherine received her Associates Degree from Front Range Community College in 2005 as the schools oldest graduate. Catherine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was a member of the Hearts Delight Club in New York and the Lady Elks in Boulder. Catherine enjoyed arts and crafts, was a Den Mother for her sons Cub Scout pack, enjoyed cruises, and trips to Wendover, Nevada and Blackhawk, Colorado. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo on October 17, 2002, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Catherine is survived by her 7 children, Michael “Mike” Ehrmann (Elizabeth), Peter Ehrmann (Becky), Edward Ehrmann (Vicky), Philip Ehrmann (Monica), Carol Armstrong (Al), Joan Sozio (John) and Catherine Dillie (John), brother John Oppel (Hilda), sister Francis Flaherty (Frank), 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation 5:30-7:00 PM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel with a Vigil service at 7:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial l0:00 AM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 3791 Pike Road, Longmont, CO 80503. Burial will be at Green Mountain Cemetery, Boulder.
