Clare Dedrick

Clare M. Dedrick November 3, 1960 - June 7, 2013 Clare M. Dedrick, 52, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away at her parent's home on Friday, June 7, 2013. Clare was born November 3, 1960 to Gerald and Irene (Stook) Marshall in Corstorphine, Scotland. She was one of four children growing up in the Marshall household. She moved to the United States as a young child and on March 8, 2012 Clare wed the love of her life, Steve Dedrick, at a ceremony in Denver, Colorado. Clare is survived by her husband, Steve Dedrick of Longmont, sons 2nd Lt.(US Army) Ian and Connor Marshall Diede of Mead, Colorado, parents Gerald and Irene Marshall of Niles, Michigan, brothers Guy Marshall of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mark Marshall of Texas and sister Maria (John) Abbott of Lincoln, Nebraska and her beloved niece, Hannah Abbott. Seven and a half years ago a bright shining star swept into my life to illuminate my drab and lonely bachelorhood... Clare. Always a young girl at heart, she loved animals, children, and her family, and took delight in feeding them all well- and copiously at that. She was my constant companion and my best friend, enduring my foibles with a smile and a laugh but never let me take myself too seriously lest a witty barb suddenly ground me in reality. She had an uncanny knack for breaking things and once (whilst sweeping up the latest debris) told me she was probably 'the klutziest blond in Colorado'. My comment she was a shoo-in for the gold were it an Olympic event almost earned me a night on the couch... To friends and neighbors she was the one everyone counted on- for child care, pet care, mowing their lawn when they couldn't, and otherwise barging in when she knew she was needed. Her loving and giving nature won her the respect and love of the entire neighborhood and everyone who met or knew her. She was my love, my light, my comfort and made this house a home. Sleep tight, my darling... THM loves BC. Always and Forever Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Clare's name may do so to their local animal shelter. In keeping with Clare's wishes she has been cremated and I am currently searching for an urn whimsical enough to make her smile. "Our song" was 'Always and Forever', listen to it and smile for us...
