Dayle Robert Bates

Dayle R. Bates, 78, died Sun., February 16, 2014 at Longmont United Hospital. Dayle was born in Tekamah, Nebraska. He was in the regular "Coffee Gang" at Aunt Alice's and Goodfellas. Dayle enjoyed spending time with and attending his grandchildren's events. He also spent many years as a volunteer at Columbine Elementary School. Dayle is survived by his wife Sherri Lynn (Logan) Bates, Longmont, CO; Sons, Richard (Miji) Bates, Longmont, CO, Dayle Robert Bates, Jr., Orlando, FL and Alan (Tracy) Bates, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Daughter, Tanya Marie (Carl) Gumeson, Longmont, CO; Grandchildren: Ashley, Amber, Levi, Sean, Christopher, Kayla-Marie and Marissa; Brothers, Donnie and Leroy; Sisters: Shirley, Kathy and Patty; Grandmother, Marie Piper; Sisters-in-law, Gail; Mother-in-law, Shirley Colvin and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Juanita and Jackie and Sister-in-law, Diana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry St., Longmont, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. A Celebration of Dayle's Life will follow at the Moose Lodge, 2200 Pratt St.
