Emma Jean Cartwright

Emma Jean Cartwright of Boulder died June 4, 2014 at TRU Hospice in Louisville, CO. She was 91. Emma Jean was born on August 12, 1922 in Boulder to Henry Luther and Myrtle Mullenix. She grew up and graduated from Boulder High School and then earned a Bachelor's Degree in business from the University of Colorado. Emma Jean married James Burton Cartwright on March 25, 1945 in Boulder. Mrs. Cartwright worked with her husband at Cartwright Employment Agency for many years. Emma Jean was a member of First Methodist Church in Boulder where she was active in the women's circle. Both James and Emma Jean were active in a Christian fellowship. More recently she attended Christian Home Fellowship of Boulder. Emma Jean was devoted to her family throughout her life. She especially enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for them. Emma Jean also enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, fishing, and boating. Mrs. Cartwright was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister Margaret Christopher. She is survived by her son Gary (Michelle) Cartwright of Boulder and her daughter Marcia (Tom) Moore of Erie. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Steven Cartwright of Denver, Christopher Cartwright of Boulder, Megan (Christian) Waskiewicz of South Lake Tahoe, CA and Micah (Sarah) Moore of Des Moines, IA and great grandchildren Emma, Chloe, Carolyne, Eden and Caleb and by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Emma Jean's life with be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13 at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street in Longmont. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services. Memorials are requested to Hospice at TRU Community Care, 2594 Trailridge Drive E, Lafayette, CO 80026.
