Ignacio Vasquez

Ignacio Vasquez, 73, of Lyons, CO passed away on June 10th, 2014 in Denver, CO. Ignacio was born on July 30th, 1940 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico to the late Santos and Ramona (Casas) Vasquez. Ignacio was married in 1959 to Mary Cárdenas. Early in their marriage, Ignacio and Mary moved to Lyons, CO to start and raise their family. Together, they would raise eight sons, Ignacio Jr., Santos, Armando, Rodolfo, Felipe, Lucio, Orlando and Arturo. Ignacio had a life-long enjoyment of classic cars, attending equipment and livestock auctions with his sons, working in and around the famous red sandstone quarries of Lyons, CO and most of all, spending time with his wonderfully large family. Ignacio was a man of deep faith and will be missed greatly by his wife Mary, his eight sons, his twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Ignacio is further survived by his six brothers, Manuel, Pablo, Felipe, Juan, Santos, and Carlos: and his sister Maria Luisa Ortiz and was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Maria Conception Gonzalez. Viewing will be from 5pm-7pm on Thursday June 19, 2014 followed by a rosary at 7pm, at Puente de Vida, 340 Lashley St #200 in Longmont. Funeral services will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at 11am at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont, CO, with Fabian Vasquez officiating. Burial will follow at the Lyons Cemetery.
