Kathleen Callahan Visvardis, born 2/20/1924 in Mechanicville, NY, passed away peacefully in Longmont, CO on 2/18/2014 after a brief illness. She was an exceedingly kind and generous person who had a fine sense of humor and loved her pets. Her life and travels brought her finally to Longmont after living in Mechanicville, NY, New York City, Warwick, NY and Llano, NM. She was an avid member of the choirs at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Warwick and St. John the Baptist in Longmont. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Diana Visvardis Barkley of Longmont and Karen Visvardis Castagna of Llano, NM, sister Rita Morgan of Mechanicville, NY, six grandchildren, Miel Castagna Herrera (Curtis) of Llano, Jess Barkley (Noelle) of Golden, Renata Castagna of Seattle, Douglas Gist of Longmont, Donna Lee Gritzo of Longmont, John Luke Gritzo of Albuquerque. Great grandchildren, Dulcinea Herrera, Vida Gist and Kingston Gist, as well as her beloved dog LuLu Visvardis. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial service is planned for this summer in New York, as well as a memorial mass at St. John the Baptist in Longmont, CO.
