Lawrence Bearly, 95, of Longmont passed away on June 20, 2014 at Life Care Center in Longmont following a long battle with diabetes and heart problems. Born April 24, 1919 at his grandparents farm near Goodrich, Kansas to James H. Bearly and Edith Brownrigg Bearly. He was always proud that his youngest daughter, Joy, was born on his birthday. Lawrence spent his early years in Kansas and California before moving to Colorado in 1944. After graduating from LIFE Bible College in 1939, he was the pastor at churches in Wellington, Kansas; Cortez, Colorado; Eaton, Colorado; and Healdsburg, California. In later years he worked for Miller Brothers Trucking Company, J.H. Bearly Alfalfa Mill in Longmont and Rocky Flats. On March 1, 1939 he married Mabel Haines in Santa Ana, California. Mabel passed away November 15, 2004 ending over sixty-five years of a happy marriage. He spent his life devoted to his Savior Jesus Christ, his wife and family. Lawrence is survived by: son, Larry Bearly and wife Glenda of Erie; daughters, Kay Kocharian and husband John of San Dimas, California; and Joy Bearly of San Dimas, California; grandchildren, Sherry and Kerry Bearly of Erie; Christopher Bearly and wife Tammy of Wellington; great-grandchildren Brittany and Michael Bearly of Wellington; sisters Elaine Houser of Arvada and Carol Sarchet and husband Bill of Ft. Lupton; sister-in-law, Betty Bearly of Cortez, Colorado, brother-in-law, Charles Harris of Loveland, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his brother Clayton, and sister Norma. Viewing will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on June 30th at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont. Funeral services will take place at Summit Foursquare Church, Longmont at 10:00 AM on July 1st.
