Marc A. Noblitt, 54, of Longmont passed away unexpectedly on October 12 at home. He was born in Santa Cruz, California to Gaylord Noblitt II and Jean Lee Porter. Marc married the love of his life, Laura, on December 11, 2004 at Lifebridge Church in Longmont. They simply adored each other - true soul mates. Marc grew up along the California coast, developing a life-long passion for the ocean and water sports. Following a short period of time as a carpenter, Marc began a 30 year career in the high tech storage industry. He was well known and highly respected in the industry, and was particularly proud of his contributions through his SATA I/O Board of Directors role. Marc's career included positions at Seagate, Maxtor, Conner, Samsung and Micron in California and Colorado, settling in Colorado in 1994. Sons Nicholas and Aric meant the world to Marc, as did family and friends. His interests spanned music, dancing, muscle cars and Mustangs, travel, cooking, fine dining and wines. He is described as larger than life and lived every moment to its fullest. Marc is survived by his wife Laura Noblitt and mother Jean Lee Nielsen of Longmont; two sons Nicholas and Aric Noblitt of Melbourne, Florida; two step children Lisa Straight of Wheatridge, Colorado and Michael Shellhamer of Houston, Texas; his two brothers Gaylord Noblitt III and wife Judy of Boxford, Massachusetts, and David Oliver of Santa Cruz, California; his sister Lynda Lucas and her husband Roger of Simi Valley, California; his two beloved cousins Hep Porter of Reno, Nevada and Debbie Porter of Simi Valley, California; as well as four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and Laura's family who took him as their own.
